Who can say goodbye to his love

Okay, so I am officially insane. I have never, ever shared any of my fanart before. (Just so you know, I don't draw very often, and usually I hate everything I do draw. But this one I had to share simply so I could use the lyrics. ♥ And to those who are not into Hetalia: download this song. It's a Scandinavian folklore and the most beautiful you'll ever hear.)

Title: Vem kan segla förutan vind
Author/Artist: yours truly
Character(s) or Pairing(s): Sweden, implied Sweden/Finland
Rating: PG
Warnings: angst
Summary: After the 1809 Finnish War, Sweden comes home only to find it empty.

Who can sail without the wind,
Who can row without oars,
Who can say goodbye to his love,
Without just one tear to pour?

I can sail without the wind,
I can row without oars,
But I cannot say goodbye to my love,
Without just one tear to pour.

A/N: I really don't know if I like it or not. I just had to draw that scene - poor Berwald. Also, the lyrics I used there are from a Finnish-Swedish folksong, "Vem kan segla förutan vind" (Who can sail without the wind). It is amazingly beautiful song, and it's so heartbreaking and fits Sweden/Finland so perfectly. Should you want to listen to it, you can find it here. (See, I just had to. ♥)

There's also another version of this drawing, it's not as dark and you can see the blood better, but I don't like it that much so I'll only give a link to it if someone wants to see it.

And one more comment about the Swedish lyrics: I had two notes with the lyrics, and in the other it said "utan att fälja" and in the other, "utan att fälla". I have no idea which is the correct one, or if both of them are, but I ended up using "fälla" - sorry if it's not how it's supposed to say.

Comments are always welcome, as is constructive criticism. :D

INORITE. I can't watch it when I'm in a stoning mood or something.

Ooh. :D I couldn't tell it was a picture frame on the floor, so yeah, the original must be clearer.

I'm horrible at drawing faces. This is why i never attempt to draw people, but I haven't drawn anything in ages. Just been playing around with photoshop lately and making icons. :D

I can understand that really well...

It is much, much clearer, but my scanner sucks and it ate half of the colours when I scanned it so I had to do something with photoshop to make it presentable. :D

Ah, but making icons is so much fun! ♥ I love making icons, although I'm not too good at that... I also love drawing, and back in the day (aka two+ years back) I drew quite a lot. I just, well, every time I draw something and think, "hm, this isn't so bad", I look at someone else's art and it's like tons of brikcs falling on you. XD I actually drew a Gerard/Erza fanart a while ago - if I ever get to clearing the lineart, I might even share it. But only because they're OTP for life and there's basically no fanart and no fanfics (except yours ♥) around about them.

Hahaha. I can't use the scanner because then I'd have to find the disk to download the program. Which is troublesome.

I'm no good at making icons too, but they're fun, so hopefully i'll get better in time. I'm fine with drawing, but I don't like deadlines. I used to be in this art program, which I hated because of various programmes, but mostly because it was so time consuming. I need to take my time for these kinds of things or it'll feel stifling and I'd just lose interest. Writing feels the same sometimes, but it's nice to see something pretty you made.

I want to see the Gerard/Erza! :D I've never drawn fanart, so it must be really cool. I can't draw freehand, I need lots and lots of reference because I'm picky about lots of things like proportion etc, which I never seem to be able to fulfill.

Aww, which reminds me. I really need to start writing all over again.

My scanner didn't work for two years, until I realised I hadn't downloaded the right program to run it... But now it finally works just fine!

And it's really easy to improve with icons, although I should try more with coloring manga... that's my weakest point. Making icons from fanart or official art is always easier. I hate deadlines too, that's why I never sign up for any fic exchanges or anything - every year I promise myself to try my best to finish NaNoWriMo, but I've neve managed. XD Maybe this year?

I'll try to ink the lines soon so it'll scan better! But it's nothing much, really, just a small pic where they're children and in the dungeon/prison. I like writing much more than drawing, but strangely enough, drawing is somehow more soothing... I'm never so critical towards my drawings than my writings.

I should too! We can both try to start writing more. :D I should try to write at least some drabbles before starting with Nanowrimo, it'd be good practise.

LOL. You're so funny, hehe.

So far I've only been making them through coloring manga, because I don't look at fanart much. And there's only so few official art. Oh! And anime. Anime coloring for Kimi Ni Todoke is so beautiful, my own coloring looks so terrible in contrast.

It's not so much the deadline but forcing myself to finish it. I always get a good headstart and it falls flat, somehow. I tried Nano before, but I didn't finish it, and it was during the period when I first started writing, so everything was crap but managed to flow out so easily. Now, it takes me such a long time to even produce drabbles. I can't participate in nano this year because I'll be having exams until the 13th of november, and then there's various stuff to do.

Thinking about it, I'm really critical towards art. Especially my art. (.__.); and my older writings as well. Perhaps it's because I'm investing a lot more in my writings nowadays that I kind of like what I write.

Ink it! Ink it! I love childhood pairings the most omg. Did you watch the anime yet? Gray looks really good there. :D I can't wait for him to appear.

Ahaha, thanks? XD

I just never manage to color the images the way I'd want them, and then I look at some other manga-colored icons and think, "why do I even bother". Ah, Kimi Ni Todoke - I've been meaning to download the anime, it seems like a really sweet plot.

Yeah - if you're forcing yourself to write, it usually turns out like crap... or at least with me, it does. Usually when I write, my drabbles come out really quickly and I can finish them in an instant, and they're usually the ones I like. But every time I try to write something that takes longer, well, I usually end up getting a writer's block and never finish it. Aww, good luck with your exams sweetie! I think I'll try to participate (even though university will sure as hell keep me busy), but I'll probably stop after managing ~2000 words and that's it. :D;;

I will! I love childhood pairings too, and aww their childhood is just so cute and tragic and bittersweet. I did watch the first episode last week, it was actually pretty good, even though it was a bit, uh, over-the-top with the fighting scenes. XD Ohh yes Gray did look good, I can't wait to see him and hear his voice~ ♥ (Also, I am dreading to hear Erza's voice. I'll kill them (aka the makers of the anime) if it's not absolutely perfect. ...and also, is it just me, or did Gerard look a bit young in the opening?) Is the second episode out yet?
